A Baby At Age 40?

Well...well my friends thought i was absolutely crazy when i told them i was going to have a baby at age 40.

That is just way too old they said..I mean you have 4 kids already...and the youngest one is well on his way to school at this time.

I said ,well,i have 4 already ,so what is one more? It is the age thing that got them..I figured im a healthy woman who happens to love kids..so having a baby at 40 was fine by me!

Don't get me wrong , it was much harder to work and look after 4 kids and a hubby who well, may as well be a kid lol..but it was still ok.

Truthfully though,there was a huge physical difference being pregnant at 40 as opposed to 23..you need to take a lil extra care with your diet..stress level ...well that's a joke lol..your whole overall being.

My take on it is this..You know what you want...you know what you can handle..and if you choose to have kids later in life...I say...Go for it..Nobody should try to talk you out of it..I mean let's face it...It's your body ..and well, your the one looking after it ..so the decision is your's!!

Having a child is a blessing..Children are precious...And if you feel good about your decision...Kudos to you...It can be done..and done well!!

Today's family

First i'd like to introduce myself,

I'am coming to you today from cold Canada...I'am a loving mommy to five wonderful children and 3 step-children. I"am a stay at home mom..who does work once a week being on mat leave..Iam also a student..taking a course in Cooking and Catering.

I love to cook and wanted to delve into a more sophisticated approach of the art..Having 5 kids im getting a lil tired of the kid food lol...You know the old standby "chicken fingers and such."
So now that you know a lilttle bit about me i have decided to write articles on "today's family".

In this hurried and uncertain lifestyle of our's i think it's time to get back to a few "family" basics..Spending more quality time with our kids..you know taking the time to ask each other how our day went...teaching our kids that there are things we can do that do not require alot of hard earned money all of the time..I mean what ever happened to a simple game of hopscotch...jacks..the good ole fun things we did as kids...there were no high tech game systems that cost us an arm and a leg so to speak..or this new phone..or that new ipod ...i mean the world has just gotten far more complicated than it really needs to be!!

So let's say to ourselves that today will be the day we implement one basic thing to do with our kids or our family as a whole..You never know...They just might love the old fashioned things we used to do lol..:) Be sure to check my blog on a regular basis as there will be many more family articles to read.

Iam no expert on this lol...but i must say i have been through alot in my young 40yrs...and have had alot of different experiences with kids and family stuff...Please feel free to leave feed back..and if you do have a kid or family related question you need help with i would be more than willing to help give you an objective view of things.
